My name is Des Parmeswar and I am a training coordinator at the training and skills development centre of the KwaZulu-Natal society for the blind. My main duty is to be able to part knowledge and education to blind and partially sighted people so that they will be able to live independent and dignified lives. I needed training in order to fulfil these needs. It was difficult getting into any program as not many were able to teach people with a disability. I am a blind woman. I had the opportunity to fulfil my training needs with the assistance from Inkwazi learning network. I have completed my facilitator, moderator, assessor and skills development training with Inkwazi learning network. It has been a memorable and productive experience for me as they were very patient and understanding. They were very considerate towards my learning style, meaning I needed my study material in braille and audio form and it was provided for me. This made y learning so much easier and I was able to acquire all of the skills I needed to run my department efficiently. Saying thank or showing gratitude is really not enough as this organisation has not only boosted my self confidence but they have also assisted e in gaining all the qualifications I needed. I have had the pleasure of participating in two courses, the first being the Facilitators course, and the recent SDF course in February this year. I like the way you take a personal interest in your learners, and as a blind student in your class, I was comfortable as you accommodated all my needs and understood my challenges.
